8 months TIG, 9 months TIS

10 months TIG, 18 months TIS

8 months TIG, 12 months TIS

To be promoted from Lance Corporal to Corporal in the Marine Corps, the requirements include a Time in Grade (TIG) of 8 months and a Time in Service (TIS) of 12 months. These criteria are established to ensure that Marines have sufficient time to develop their skills and demonstrate their leadership capabilities before advancing to the next rank.

Having 8 months TIG allows candidates to gain the necessary experience in their current rank, reinforcing their abilities in leadership and other essential functions. The 12 months TIS requirement ensures that the Marine has had adequate time to serve in the Corps and is familiar with the expectations and responsibilities that come with the next rank.

The other options present variations in the TIG and TIS requirements that do not align with the established standards for promotion to Corporal. It's crucial for Marines to be aware of these timelines as they prepare for advancement in their careers.
